SEO, Goals, Planning
Okay so, this is a very important slice of the pie! Creating goals, creating a social media content plan and making it all fit your brand/brand values, the correct tone of voice and all the while working in your favour for SEO, (Search Engine Optimisation) is key for your Martial Arts School.
Goals
You know how important goal setting is, so we don’t need to go into it too much. With your content, what do you want to achieve, is it more engagement? More likes? Generate leads? Something else? All are valid reasons, but you need to know where you’re going/what you’re aiming for before you start your journey.
Planning
So, you’ve set out your goals. Now you need to plan how you will attain them. A content plan will benefit you in a major way, don’t worry though, as we here at the NEST Management HQ have thought about this and created a content plan and many other resources for you to download on the Marketing Toolkit here: https://toolkit.mymamembers.com/product/facebook-content-plan/ And for non-NEST Clients you can get it here: https://www.nestmanagement.co.uk/access-nest-resources/
Hashtags
When creating social media posts, you need to be using Hashtags such as #NESTmanagement or #martialartsuk #martialartslife Here is a great hashtag generator you can type in a specific word, press search and it will find relevant #’s that link to the one you input: https://www.all-hashtag.com/hashtag-generator.php
SEO, Keywords
So as mentioned above SEO is the (not so) secret recipe when creating any kind of online content. You don’t want to be putting in just anything, you need to use the niche we’re in to gain traffic according to that. For example we here at NEST Management as a Business growth company that deal with Martial Artists, Martial Arts Schools, Martial Arts Clubs would want to attract people from UK Martial Arts Clubs or Martial Arts Business Owners. Using these specific ‘keywords’ makes sense for our business because that is who we want to attract to our blog and page. If you are a Martial Arts Academy, you could be using certain words and phrases such as Martial Arts Students or Learn Martial Arts, again, not to just appease the AI gods but to get your content seen by the right people in the right place.
Be relevant, be on trend
But are you relevant though?
Relevancy comes and goes and that’s why you need to make sure that your content is relevant to your niche. Will parents want to bring their children to your Martial Arts club, why should they? If you’re providing the best quality content but for something that has nothing to do with your business, then why do it in the first place?
Trending
How peak is it that you’re not trending- what does that even mean, don’t worry without a quick google you might not know but ‘peak’ is a modern-day slang term for ‘bad luck’ or ‘gutted’ but how long will this slang term be used, is it trending now or by the time you’re reading this will it already be old fashioned, who knows! That’s why you need to make sure you are reactive with trends, post when it’s popular and try not to miss your chance.

Educational
Teaching, it’s in your blood as a Martial Artist! Using your own teachings and experiences to share with students is what you do! Why not take that knowledge, share it online in ways that you know work?
Research
You know your stuff and the people looking at your content want to see it, after years of learning your craft, you know what people need to see, how they learn and what they want to take in. Use your offline expertise to your advantage and transfer it to an online space. One great way of research is by creating your content based on what people are asking about in their searches, you can use a website such as https://answerthepublic.com/ to take a deeper dive into your specific niche. For example, when using this website to search for ‘Martial Arts’ there are 76 different questions based around that subject, the website breaks down each question so you can see all relevant data to help you create content catered to you.
Trust & Authority
Trust is a massive factor when it comes to all sorts of things and that includes creating valuable content, a great way to create trust is to link to authoritative sources. Linking to media, government websites, universities or even websites like https://www.getintomartialarts.com/  (feel free to use if you want,) using these kind of backlinks will make you and your content more creditable as a content creator.
Sharable
Sharable content, what is it? Well, it doesn’t have to ‘go viral’ but if something is useful, fun, educational or enjoyable to the end user, they will most likely want to show their friends and family by sharing it online. And that’s what we’re aiming for.
Actionable tips
Social media engagement with actionable tips, are a great way to show how valuable your content actually is, giving a call to action on every post such as “what advice would you give? Let us know in the comments below 👇👇👇” will make your audience want to get involved and engage more with your content. Using Emoji’s in your social media content is also a great way to grab the attention of your audience, here are a couple of websites you can use to copy and paste emoji’s into your content: https://emoji-copy-paste.com/ https://emojipedia.org/
Don’t forget to add eggs, this recipe needs it! 🍳🥚
Email list
Have you got a mailing list? Creating an email list is defiantly something you should have if you haven’t already. Let’s think about it this way, what would you do if Facebook, Instagram, or other social media went out of business? That mean’s almost your whole business that relied on these websites is also gone, what if your account gets banned? All the more reason as to why you should create a mailing list as soon as possible, this list is a direct link to your customers/students that you can use to send newsletters, discounts, updates, marketing materials to (as long as they agree to receive marketing materials of course)
Create by doing
At the end of the day, the best course of action is to create by doing, got a pen? Write, Got a camera? Take pictures. The best way to create valuable content is to create content. It’s all about trial and error too! You might make an Instagram reel or a Tik Tok and it could be terrible or have no engagement but that doesn’t mean you should get rid of it, maybe it’s time just isn’t now, it could get more traction in the future and could be the next viral video or fun challenge the world wants to get involved with. Trust in yourself and use your expertise to your advantage,
Remember to cook on full power.
Use these key ingredients to bake a cake that will be shared and enjoyed by everyone, all you have to do is get out there and do it!
