It’s easy to start feeling down about the constant stream of bad news that we are bombarded with when we turn on our Televisions.
Easy too to forget about all the good that there is around, and all the positive ways in which people are supporting each other and improving the lives of others.
It’s remarkably simple for each of us to make a difference on a daily basis, and in fact for some inspiration you might like to take a look at the web page of the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation:
In their own words, “the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is an internationally recognized non-profit organization founded upon the powerful belief in kindness and dedicated to providing resources and tools that encourage acts of kindness”.
How wonderful that an entire Foundation has been built on these principles alone.
In our industry we are surrounded, taught and governed by the idea of a strong moral code, of ethics that underpin and guide us on our journey towards being Martial Artists. We strive for honesty, respect and compassion, but what do we actually do on a daily basis to make this a reality?
In your position as a teacher, a mentor, a business owner, a boss; you have countless opportunities to make a difference to another person’s life by showing them kindness. In doing this you will most likely start a chain of events which will see that kindness spread from person to person, within your Academy and beyond.
There are two dates coming up to support these ideas;
World Kindness Day
Nov. 13, 2014
Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Week
February 9-15, 2015
