It’s been quite a journey for us over the past 15 years; the company has grown and developed in many ways. But what is the real story of NEST? In this week’s blog, we take a look how NEST came to be and the services it now offers to clients, to help meet their needs and grow their business.
Once upon a time…
NEST staff 2015
Back in December 2000, NEST first opened its doors, as one of only a handful of UK based martial arts management businesses. The inspiration for this business came from Managing Director, Gerard Turvey’s time as a martial arts instructor and some of the common issues that he and other school owners faced with running their businesses.
Gerard’s involvement in martial arts enabled him to experience firsthand the challenges that other instructors and school owners faced such as collecting fees and marketing, which became the founding inspiration for the development of NEST, with the aim of resolving these issues. The knowledge and experience of NEST staff set a solid foundation to help school owners realise the full potential of their business and help them achieve it.
One of the biggest benefits that NEST have offered clients from the beginning and still to this day is payment by Direct Debit for students. NEST were the first martial arts management company in the United Kingdom to provide this service, which provides more financial security and stability for school owners. From its humble beginnings in a home office, NEST has come a long way over the years and continues to grow their business, offering more services.
