Ethical companies 'more successful' PDF Print
ImageCompanies with an ethical framework are more likely to be successful, according to an industry expert.

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has said that companies that have a basis of ethical standards tend to make more money than those that don't.

A recent survey by CIMA found that 73 per cent of respondents think their ethical performance will become a formal part of their role over the next few years.

Danielle Cohen, ethics manager at CIMA, said those with an ethical framework tend to flourish more financially.

She added: "Having good ethical standards which are embedded in the company and which you measure your performance against are just a part of good management."

A debate entitled Is Global Ethics a Myth?, hosted by CIMA and attended by Dragon's Den star James Caan and Channel 4 news presenter Jon Snow, yesterday discussed whether it was possible for companies to be both ethical and profitable.
