Government offering free health checks for small businesses PDF Print
ImageFree health checks are being offered to small businesses in order the help them through the current economic climate.

The government has launched the Business Health Check Scheme through its support Business Link service.

Any businesses which wish to be included in the scheme must complete an online questionnaire which reportedly evaluated the strength of their business.

The scheme aims to help small businesses to identify strengths and weaknesses and develop an "effective strategy" to help them boost activity, with all recommendations tailored to meet the specific needs of each company.

Ganesh Selvarajah, from Business Link, said: "Smart businesses review their performance regularly to look for early signs of any issues that will affect their profitability.

"The Health Checks are a really effective way of doing this."

A new website has been launched to help teach small business about the benefits of flexible working.

Entitled www.flexible-working.org, it offers guidance and practical advice in order to help small businesses through the credit crunch, according to Personnel Today.
