Business networking sites 'can add value' PDF Print
ImageBusiness networking sites can add value to a firms contact book, according to the chief executive of an online business workplace.

Martin Warner, from TalkBizNow, has said that such sites can offer more than just being forums for communication.

He added they can add "business context" and identity to an organisation, with sites displaying information relating to roles, department and industries, which Mr Warner described as being "useful".

The expert stated: "Because you are likely to either be promoting yourself, selling something, or even just reaching out for research, things like your prior corporate history and all of this data surrounds your business identity online."

A recent report entitled Network Citizens: Power and Responsibility at Work, published by independent think tank Demos in collaboration with Orange, said that an exchange of contacts and information has always helped businesses adapt, grow and expand.

It added the internet has "changed the face of business" over the last decade.
