A council in Lancashire has appointed a healthy lifestyle co-ordinator to set up and maintain health and fitness regimes across the area.Zoe Pickard has been appointed to the role, which is funded by NHS East Lancashire. She told the Lancashire Telegraph she aims to put on a number of programmes across the borough over the coming months and plans to work with fitness and leisure centres across the Ribble Valley. Ms Pickard was unveiled at an official event, which was encouraging people to participate in Tai Chi, earlier this week. She added that the response to the session "bowled her over". "My aim is to work with the local community and programme partners to encourage a sense of well-being and to promote healthy living activities to benefit people of all ages and all levels of health," said Ms Pickard. A specialist job site was recently launched for fitness professionals. Entitled DanceandFitnessJobs.com, the site will allow people to post details of their skills in an easy format, with employers able to search through a number of potential candidates. ![]() |
