Gerard Turvey reaches peak of Mount Toubkal PDF Print
ImageThe managing director of NEST has reached the summit of the highest mountain in North Africa.

It has been confirmed that Gerard Turvey has reached the peak of Mount Toubkal to achieve the culmination of his charity expedition.

Mr Turvey, along with a group of leading business leaders, is aiming to raise £150,000 for Afrikids, a charity which helps to empower people in Ghana.

The charity, which invests in businesses and ethically-produced clothing, is an award-wining non-government organisation.

Afrikids is supported by a number of major groups, including Barclaycard and The Pears Foundation.

It recently collaborated with Topshop to launch a new collection of summer fashion items inspired by traditional West African design.

Each piece of clothing in the Humankind range was individually crafted out of locally grown cotton on a Fairtrade basis by communities in Northern Ghana.

The range is now on sale at Topshop's flagship Oxford Street store.
