A US company is developing a social networking platform for health and fitness professionals.Fitspott is working on the site, which would act as a portal for the industry, in order to help people find jobs in the economic downturn. In news which may be of interest to martial arts and fitness centres on this side of the pond, a beta version of the platform could be up and running in the coming months. Erin Hurry, co-founder of Fitspott, said industry people across the globe could interact with others worldwide in order to both share new exercise techniques and technologies as well as access to a large portal of skilled professionals seeking employment. "Creating an online community of health and fitness professionals offers a great place for the fitness enthusiast to get the answers, direction, new ideas and motivation they are always looking for," she added. The Evening Leader recently claimed that more gyms were needed in the Flinthsire area, following data released from the National Public Health Service for Wales showed that 12,700 people in the area are now classed as obese. ![]() |
