Employees 'can highlight data security issues' PDF Print
ImageEmployees are in the best position to highlight any potential data security problems, according to ID fraud expert CCP.

The firm has said that a level of transparency is needed between the employer and employee in order for successful security measures to be implemented.

It added that employers often "leave things lying around" and also store data on memory sticks, which leaves workers in the best place to spot any potential security issues.

Danny Harrison, identity theft expert for CCP, said employers "really need to look at everything" within their business.

"If the security measures being taken have been established, it's making sure that all the employees are aware of that and also getting feedback from them because often the employees are in the best place to highlight any problems," he added.

Recent research by Tockbox.net and Opinion Matters, on behalf of CCP, found that 19 per cent of employees do not trust their employers to protect their personal information.
