Environmental measures 'can lead to savings for small firms' PDF Print
ImageSmall businesses can make savings by embracing new environmental polices, it has been claimed.

Programme manager for NetRegs.gov.uk Richard Martin and Alexander Ehman, head of parliamentary and regulatory affairs at the Institute of Directors, have asserted that firms could make some "serious" savings if they embrace some green issues.

Mr Martin added the current economic climate will be making businesses focus on costs and these can be greatly reduced by adopting measures such as reducing the waste sent to landfills and reducing their use of water and electricity.

"There are definitely savings to be made there and I think the majority of them don't realise this is somewhere they could make savings, and that would go straight to the bottom line," he concluded.

According to Startups.co.uk, businesses could cut 20 per cent of their electricity bills by turning off the lights in the evening and switching off computer screens.
