FSB proposes measures to help struggling businesses PDF Print
ImageThe Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has proposed two new measures to help struggling firms in the current economic climate.

It has written a letter to the prime minister outlining its new measures.

The FSB has warned that many millions of pounds worth of money that small businesses are entitled to under the Small Business Rate Relief Scheme remain unclaimed.

A recent survey in Essex found that over £48 million went unclaimed in that county alone.

It has also called on Gordon Brown to reintroduce a rate relief under the Rating act 2007 to allow a 50 per cent reduction on empty commercial premises.

John Wright, FSB national chairman, said he firmly believes the measures would "help small businesses to meet today's critical economic climate".

The Fitness Industry Association and the Women's Sport Fitness Foundation have announced its new Sweat in the City campaign, designed to inspire women across London to get more active.
