Websites 'should be kept simple and easy to use' PDF Print
ImageBusiness should ensure that their websites are simple and easy to use, according to an internet expert.

Graham Charlton, a researcher for online marketing training company e-consultancy, said that people generally just want a site which makes it simple to "find what they want".

He also recommends that sites should be kept "relatively simple", as things that take too long can put visitors off and added that interactive sites are more suited to those aimed at children.

"People want to be able to visit the site, navigate around it easily to find what they want as quickly as possible, and then to check out," said Mr Charlton.

A survey by consumer research firm NPD recently found that 81 per cent of search engine users found the information they needed every time, with 45 per cent of respondents searching using multiple keywords or key phrases.
