Small businesses 'exasperated by tax system' PDF Print
ImageThe Forum of Private Businesses (FPB) has warned that the UK tax system is damaging small businesses.

It is in response to David Cameron's commitment to cut taxes in order to prevent small businesses from leaving the UK market.

Research by the FPB, in its Referendum quarterly survey of members, found that 97 per cent of respondents admitted that the UK is a worse place to do business due to the current government's tax system.

Phil Orford, the chief executive of the FPB, said that this research "shows just how exasperated" people are with the system.

"While Mr Cameron's proposals on business taxation are welcome news, it is important that he makes good on his statements and addresses the disproportionate tax burden, as failure to do so will drive even more small firms away from the UK," he added.

The FPB recently warned that local post office closures could impact on small businesses that rely on the branches for key services and support.
