Internet policies 'should be established in companies' PDF Print
ImageBusinesses need to establish internet policies for their employees to lower the risk of malicious software, according to the news editor of Web-User magazine.

Ben Camm-Jones stated a "very definite policy" will help set a clear set of guidelines should any disputes occur.

He explained that business and IT managers are "concerned" about employees having access to the internet as there are fears related to time-wasting and also risks of malicious viruses or software being downloaded onto company PCs.

"I think the best practice is that companies really need to establish a very definite policy about what their staff are and aren't allowed to do on the internet and make it very clear to all employees what that policy is," concluded Mr Camm-Jones.

A recent survey by web security firm MessageLabs found that 2,076 malicious websites were blocked every day in June, a rise of 58 per cent from May's figures.
